Black Men Magazine Covers Don’t Cover Contempt for Black Women

I’m supposed to criticize black women for crossing over? I cannot.

Let me first state that we are dealing with numbers here. It has gotten to be annoying but necessary to preface all comments that deal with social phenomena with an acknowledgement that what is discussed is of a general nature based upon statistical odds. Please do not reply with singular examples or point out that this does not apply to all black men or all black women. Obviously, it does not. Not all people fall ill to anything. An epidemic does not have to affect everyone for it to be an emergency.

The evidence is that the vast majority of black men prefer women who look more like the non-black man’s mother when he was conceived than his own. That evidence is blaring in the dating site statistics; studies done by black people in social psychology journals; marriage and cohabitation studies done by black and white scientists and economists; the casting calls for rap videos, and, most importantly; the everyday experience of black girls and women. This last proof is what young women see when they walk into their brothers’, cousins’, and male friends’rooms or into convenience stores where black men are browsing these magazines. Friday night at the club shows more of the same. Black men carrying toddler seats to the restaurant table shows more of the same.

Statistics showing that currently married black men are mostly married to black women do not contradict this evidence. A large percentage of black men do not marry at all. And, when they do, they overwhelmingly strive to do so with women who have traits atypical of black women in any significant part of Africa that has not been exposed to admixture with non-black genetics. Again, this a matter of plain fact that is demonstrated by solid scientific data. Men all over the world have always availed themselves of the opportunity to put their penises in the available vaginas when the vaginas of the women they most desired—- beyond their genital’s ability to produce brief physical pleasure with eyes closed, if necessary— were not available. And, when there are no vaginas, the evidence is that many men will use another man’s rectum. So, the mere result of a nappy-headed baby being born of such sexual contact is not any evidence of preference for their nappy-headed mothers.

The evidence is also that the overwhelming majority of black women, however, prefer black men over every other type of men. Said evidence can be found in all of the sources referenced in the paragraph above this one.

These are the facts. This is not a matter of “debating over who’s been oppressed the worst, who isn’t valued the most, who’s been hurt the most etc.” It is, to me, disingenuous to attempt to put this matter of preference in a hat with all of the issues termed “gender wars” between black men and black women. All other matters of behavior are moot between a man and a woman when the man really does not want her because of how she looks. This is similar to tabling all communication and other issues when one spouse learns that the other is homosexual.

So, what are the millions of black women to do with no prospects of marrying a black man who truly wants and desires her? She has four options:
1) Be back-up pu$$y whether dating or married;
2) Be in a polygynous relationship with one of the few black men who do genuinely prefer black women;
3) Be celibate; * In my view, this includes changing one’s intimacy orientation to lesbianism and seeking to only have one’s eggs fertilized by some means unrelated to heterosexual pair-bonding.
4) Accept an offer of marriage or a date she believes could lead to marriage with a non-black man

These are all bad options compared to being with a black man who truly desires her. Option 1 encourages this trend among black men to continue or accelerate and is the option most black women are taking. But, for most black women, each of these four options compromise both her physical and emotional health. Far be it from me to criticize any black woman for reaching for the poisoned food from which she is left to choose. It is up to black men to work among themselves to get the poison out of the soil.

Black people have been primed to laugh at and/or cheer when black women are battered; or at least, have no outrage about it. After all, we have been primed to see black women as , really, black men in drag. So, we deserve to be battered. Or, can surely take it. We’re the tough-as-nails. “strong black woman” who can compete in an 800 meters collegiate race white eight-months pregnant and we can take a heavy-weight left hook on a bus after being a public nuisance. Madea can.

So, why not take, upload to social media, and laugh at videos of black women being injured or sneer at very brown little girls being sexually exploited or exposed. Or, talk of black mothers, generally, as being of the character that grows to full form from these tots. Why not laugh?

Non-black people are laughing, too. And, gunning us down—female AND male.

The gender of beasts; of vermin, is of no consequence. Once the females have been divested of expected consideration— even grandmothers— children are simply potential threats. And, black males, if you think you had it bad before, you ought to hear the gears shifting into overdrive now. If you thought this black-men-in-a-dress thing was only about feminizing black males, think again.

Poisonous propaganda about a people is almost always served early with the sugar of comedy. We might laugh ourselves into a killing field.

Who’s Playing Along with the NBA? On LeBron James, Michael Jordan, Kawhi Leonard & The Rules on Color

I woke up this morning to a slew of Facebook posts by black people saying how ridiculous it was to have ever spoken of LeBron James as being anywhere near the greatness of Michael Jordan— after last night’s 4-1 San Antonio Spurs blow-out win over LeBron James’ Miami Heat team in the NBA Finals. These posts were given thousands of thumbs-ups — by other black people. White folks wouldn’t go to much trouble to disagree with that. But, white folks were spending their basketball-trash-talking minutes this morning fawning all over the greatness of the most international team (and, arguably the most explicitly anti-black team) in the NBA and, of course, the greatness of their beloved Great White Father, “Pop.” That latter title of the Spurs’ coach always sets to mind for me Adolf Hitler’s name for Nazi Germany as the “Fatherland.” But, I’ve digressed. What I’m going to do in this article is point out: 1) why so many black people show love to Jordan but throw glare on James, and; 2) why so many black people REALLY delighted in seeing the Spurs demolish the Heat.

WHY SO MANY BLACK PEOPLE SHOW LOVE TO MICHAEL JORDAN BUT THROW GLARE ON LEBRON JAMES
No, the facts do not bear out that MJ and LBJ are widely separated by performance.

“Michael Jordan’s team did not clear .500 in the regular season until his fourth season in the league, 1987-1988, when Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant came aboard and Doug Collins was coach….”

The Cav’s went to the playoffs [James’] 3rd season in the league and that was coming straight out of H.S. while Jordan came into the league after 2 years of college ball. James left Cleveland for Miami and has reached the Finals in all three years, winning twice. Through 10 years, Jordan holds a 3-2 edge in championships and Finals MVPs. James has a 4-3 edge in Finals appearances and regular-season MVPs. The numbers for these two all-time greats are through Jordan’s age-31 year and James’ age-28 year. “

Like most beliefs that do not reconcile with the facts, this one about Jordan far out-performing James is based upon bias. In this case, it is a bias caused by white folks to further their system of domination.

A lot of black people dislike LeBron James, essentially, because a lot of white folks dislike him: kinda the way black people disliked Malcolm X in his day because, they were told was an adequate reason, The Minister advocated “violence” ( self-defense).
In LBJ’s case, somehow it’s related to “how The Decision was done.” That was a product created by the white folks who control marketing. LBJ had every right to profit from it though all the money he made from it went to charity. James also had/has every right to be vocal about his confidence. When white men do it, it’s called “leadership.” When black men do it, it’s called “cockiness” (not surprisingly). Think about the word, “cocky.” Minister Malcolm was not a well-behaved Negro and neither is King James of America. I understand that we don’t like those of us whom our dominators don’t like because those rebels make us nervous. But, we gotta deal with that nervousness in a more constructive way. The rebels are right and the dominators are wrong.

WHY SO MANY BLACK PEOPLE REALLY DELIGHTED IN SEEING THE SPURS DEMOLISH THE HEAT

Black people hate blackness, of course. We hate seeing it like a vain 50-yr-old hates looking into mirrors. We prefer to see ourselves as something different, something better, we believe, than we actually are. Most black people prefer to see ourselves as the mulattoes that have replaced us in mass media. This is often discussed as regards black women and hair weaves. But, witness it now in black men: A friend of mine told me this morning that she was watching game 5 last night in a lounge. My friend told me, “at a table next to mine were several young black men who talked about The Spurs having a black man from this country and that…how this one was mixed with this and that….they high-fived when the Spurs scored and one yelled for them to whoop them ‘black mutha fuckas asses'”

Hasn’t anyone noticed how the NBA has had, for the last 5-10 years, a much higher percentage of lighter-skinned black players than exists in the general population or that existed before that time? Professional sports have now become like any other job. Lighter skin can qualify you when ability alone cannot. This change in policy by the racists was quite deliberate and explained very well in a piece on Aljazeera, entitled, Far from Sterling: Rebranding racism in sports, written during the 2nd round of this year’s NBA play-offs:

“The National Basketball Association (NBA) has evolved into a global commodity. With fans all over the world, its top athletes are as recognisable as Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. Although a worldwide brand today, the NBA’s struggle has long been selling a “Black game” to a white audience stateside, and non-Blacks on the international front.

‘Less black and more professional’

Today 76 percent of NBA players are Black. Before the influx of international talent in the 1990s, the proportion of Black players was even higher. NBA owners, all of whom were white until 2002, set off to do the impossible: convert a predominantly Black NBA into a non-Black league.

First, league owners sought to transform the league’s image. Hip-hop culture was ubiquitous in the NBA, manifested by the music played at stadiums to the style of dress worn by its biggest stars. The corn-rowed Allen Iverson, who commonly wore baseball caps and medallions at press conference, replaced the suit-and-tie professionalism of Michael Jordan.

The shift was far more than merely aesthetic. Jordan personified the apolitical sensibility and trans-racial marketability NBA owners coveted. Jordan was said to ‘transcend race’, while Iverson’s slang resonated more with street kids than corporate sponsors. While Jordan faded away from race and politics, claiming: ‘Republicans buy sneakers, too’, Iverson represented the very culture and community NBA owners sought to clip.”

To “transcend race” means to not talk about racism (the domination of black people). That can include not talking much AT ALL and looking down when not looking at some task on the court. It’s not his fault and I’m not demeaning the Spur small-forward, Kawhi Leonard’s, talent. But, of course, his behavior and speech fit the latter specs. The same can be said of The Oklahoma City Thunder’s Reggie Jackson. Let me reiterate that I am NOT blaming Mr. Leonard or Mr. Jackson. They are being severely victimized and it shows. Victims are not to blame for their victimization. Period.

To be “more professional and less black” as referenced in the Aljazeera piece, means to as much as possible, literally and phenotypically be less black. The international list of black NBA players fits this bill more than it does not. But, it also includes many born right here in these 50 united states in North America. An Arab in Dubai watching an NBA game might think that Danny Green, Tim Duncan, Stephen Curry, or Blake Griffin are Arabs. And, a lot of black people would like to escape their black self-perception by seeing themselves in such players.

In other words, a lot of the dislike that black people have for the Miami Heat, as currently constituted, and much of the fondness we have for the Spurs is not because of the way the latter play team ball but is just plain colorism born of being dominated by non-black folk.

This is just another step in white folks steering us into what is and what is not “acceptable” appearing natural hair for us.Let’s not fall for the banana in the tail-pipe again.

We’ve seen this before and how it turns out. It’s how Melvin Van Peebles’ ground-breaking film, Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song, turned into white-financed Super Fly and Hustle & Flow. It’s how the “natural” turned into the “afro” and then the afro with a “blow-out kit” (mild lye relaxer) and then into the Jheri curl. And, let’s be clear: Even the woman who had her hair chopped does not have hair most typical of black people who are unmixed.

It’s how the walk out of Virgina public schools for equal facilities turned into the nation-wide fight to attend their schools. ENOUGH already.

We can study their materials for our own purposes. But, we should know by now that it is better to learn from the mistakes of our own judgment than
to EVER consider their counsel.

Just Say No to Combs

It’s just plain math, i.e., logic. No one likes pain. IF combing hair causes pain and hair must/should be combed, THEN, hair that can be combed with no/less pain IS “good hair.”

Time is precious. IF combing hair rakes a lot of time and hair must/should be combed, THEN, hair that can be combed with no/less time IS “good hair.”

If you have very tightly coiled-hair that you don’t regularly change into not-so-bad hair with chemical or mechanical heat, your hair could logically be reasoned to be bad unless you style your hair WITHOUT COMBING in a manner that does not require pain or undue time (more than about 90 minutes per week). Or, unless you shave it all off.

I do not have “bad hair” and I am not bald. My hair is a mix of curls of various diameters (some natural and some fashioned with conditioner and my fingers) and naps and locs. I REASONABLY de-tangle my hair with my fingers before and after washing. I do use scissors to clean the lines here and there as I got myself emotionally unattached to length except enough to see the luxurious, has-its-own-mind textures. But, I’ve no need to rid my head of every single tangle anymore than I’ve a need for the shrubbery in my yard to look just like the grass. And, I get compliments all the time on both my hair and my yard.

I had a math problem to solve and I solved it.

In South Africa, during “apartheid,” white folks would administer the “comb test” to determine whether to classify some children as “coloured” (mixed race) and, therefore qualified to be spared of some mistreatment coming to those classified as black. THAT is a “racially biased” test if ever I heard of one. I refuse to administer it to myself.

I must, according to my counter-racist code, tell the truth about my weaknesses and faults in any matter that I solicit the same of others. And, that truth is that I did not correctly solve this problem at the time that I chose to have offspring. I solved the “bad hair” problem of my offspring by selecting a father with straight hair. He also has pink skin.

Anderson Silva Beaten by White men, err, Weidman in UFC 162

The man who is said to be the best mixed-martial arts (MMA) practitioner of all time, who defended his UFC title a record 10 times, Anderson Silva, got dominated last night during his unsuccessful title middle-weight defense against Chris Weidman (sounds like “white man”). He was not dominated by Weidman alone. As is the case for every single day of Silva’s life, he was dominated by the folks who comprise the global system of white domination (racism). The only difference is that, last night, we got to see it on blazing display. To me, it is totally obvious that Silva was forced to throw that fight last night and that he wanted us to know it. I hold this to be true despite UFC president, Dana White’s, expletive-laced denial of the fight being fixed. I hold this to be true despite Silva saying, “He’s the best. I did my best, but he’s the best.” As standard news stories have reported, “Silva inexplicably kept his hands down and kept shouting to Weidman to fight.” Many white folks are saying that’s Silva’s characteristic cock-y-ness and that he paid for it last night. That is absurd. Silva is one of the most unassuming guys in the sport and he’s the smartest fighter in MMA. I agree with most of the sport world: If he’d planned on winning that fight with Weidman last night then, yes, it was inexplicable of him to keep his hands down as much as he did.

Silva’s is as smart as any victim I know. He knows that in combat, one must deceive. At some point, Silva, realized, that he was being combated outside of the octogon more than in it. Silva said, as early as 2008, that he wanted to complete the remaining six fights on his contract and retire. He said at that time, “It has nothing to do with money because I’m a humble person who has an ordinary life. Actually I never did it for money…Everything I could do for MMA, I already did. Now it’s time to help the new generation. You will not see myself pinching a fly anymore…I’m going to be fat, with a big belly by the side of the Octagon, eating popcorn behind the scenes.” I think he’s been tired of all of the white maneuvering for quite a while. Tired of not being able to have the say that white fighters have in who and when they fight. Tired of white fighters who he thought were “brothers” agreeing to fight him. Tired of having to defend his wife’s honor and his sons’ respect against the white guy, Chael Sonnen, who takes performance-enhancing drugs and said, “Tell Anderson Silva I will pat his wife on the ass and have her make me a steak.” But, the racists wanted to stop Silva from retiring undefeated in title defenses. And, they wanted him to take damage. Some severe pressure was brought to bear to keep Silva fighting. I do not know what it was. I just know white folks. And, as well as I know my toothbrush, I know that loud collective “boo,” when Weidman entered the arena last night, had to have been bought and planted. One thing white men CANNOT change is their gut-level antipathy for black-male physical prowess. I don’t recall any other time when the boos for Silva did not greatly outweigh any for his opponent. Now, if the boos were bought and planted, I knew it was a cover for the racist conspiracy, yes, damn it, conspiracy to take Silva down last night.

Silva had a couple of choices last night: 1) throw the fight as “asked,” or 2) anger Dana White’s mafia thereby putting God-knows-what and God-knows-who at risk and being forced into fights with little notice, enduring “accidents” by training partners, being tasked with super-fights in which he would have to lose weight, then gain weight, etc..
And, all the while, having to cap his testosterone so as to not offend white guys. He chose #1. And, he did it in such a fashion so as to deprive white men of chest-thumping while, at the same time, protesting that he had to make that choice. His corner men were visibly concerned and confused at Silva’s agitated behavior between the first and second round. This was not the man they knew.

After Weidman obliged Silva’s repeated invitations to knock him out, Silva said he had no desire to fight for the championship. No desire to be premier exhibit of big-game being taken down by the white hunter. This was Silva’s way out—five years later than when he’d first announced it. Dana White, UFC president and spokesman, said he has other plans for Silva. Anderson Silva is TIRED. He said so on the mic in the ring last night. Most case studies in racism are sports events. Joe Louis, Jesse Owens, Jackie Robinson, Muhammad Ali, Michael Vick, Serena Williams, Alan Iverson, LeBron James, Anderson Silva, the Michigan Fab Five, et al.. This is because, though there are always white folks working to mistreat black people in all areas of people activity, victims most often encounter direct mistreatment on the job. And, though most of us have trouble getting the interest of even our close kin in the abuse we are taking from white folks on our jobs, all eyes are on the jobs of a black professional athletes. I have absolutely no shame in admitting that I watch tennis only to see what white folks are up to with Venus, Serena, and Gaël Monfils; that I watched gymnastics only to see the effects of white folks on Gabby Douglas; that I watched golf (yes, past tense) only to see what they were up to with Tiger, that I watch basketball only to see how white folks deal with each member of the Miami Heat “Big Three,” and watch MMA only to keep tabs on their moves against Anderson Silva and Jon Jones…. You get the picture. The big picture. The only “game” in the known universe. The only war in the known universe. The system of racism. The system of white domination.

San Antonio Spurs Coach Pop: Supreme Manager of Black Cock-y-ness

Dressing stylishly for media events after games implies pride and confidence. Confidence, in any amount, in a black male is cocky-ness to white men. White folks’ chief complaint (only complaint?) against world MMA champions Anderson Silva and Jon Jones, and 4-time NBA MVP, LeBron James is that they are COCKY. I suspect that the reason that Spurs players dress down in post-game media conferences is that white “Coach Pop” (Popovich) rewards and enforces an “aw shucks, tuck in your confidence/cock” demeanor on the black Spurs players. Confidence in any amount in black people makes the black person a target for greater abuse. And, when it is in black men, it is, of course, berated as damnable cockiness. Everyone knows black men have big ones. I guess that’s why Ginobili, the Spurs best white player, has the biggest salary in order to compensate for his lack of cock-y-ness compared to Parker and Duncan.

Danny Green, who along with Gary Neal was a no-marquis player who shot the lights out last night in game 3 of the NBA finals, is “the only player in the history of the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) with 1,000 points, 500 rebounds, 250 assists, 150 three-pointers, 150 blocks and 150 steals. He won the NCAA men’s basketball Division I national championship in his senior year at UNC and played in his first NBA finals in 2013 with the San Antonio Spurs.” Still, according to espn.go.com, the Spurs “couldn’t stand him… didn’t like his attitude and didn’t think he’d fit in with their team-oriented culture.” Green, then, left a voice-mail message for “Pop” saying, “I’ll do whatever you need me to do. Rebound, defense, towel boy, water boy … whatever you need me to do, I’m going to do that.” Ole Pop gave Green second and third chances after that—- the third time having his former white college coach at North Carolina vouch to “Pop” for his “attitude adjustment.”

In circumstances such as these, when black men are pulling down millions of dollars, white men feel strategically re-assured when black men date and marry white women as bed-side overseers. Being reassured that these black men want so desperately to please white folks. So, should we be surprised?……
